Children come into class, self-register, hang up their coats and bags and put their water bottle on their spot.
Morning calming movement time, carpet lesson or story time, then choosing time where children can play and learn across the classroom in a wide range of activities.
10.00am - Outside doors opn and children can free-flow between indoor and outdoor areas
11.30am - Tidy up time, carpet lesson and story time or energentic movement time
11.55am - Morning children get their things ready to go home, children that stay all day wash their hands and get ready for lunch.
Please encourage your child to be as independant as possible with eating, drinking, getting dressed, getting things they need and putting them away.
We will of course offer help where needed and appropraite to each child's age and ability, however they will settle much more easily if they are already able to attempt most of these things by themselves.
We expect children joining us for nursery to have some level of toilet training before they start with us. Our staff are happy to support with the continuation of toilet training, however this will be a continuation of processes already started at home.
Nappy changing facilities are available in Nursery Class where necessary, but it's important that children are able to tell staff when they need to use toilet facilities or when they may have had an accident.
For more information on toilet training, visit: https://eric.org.uk/potty-training/
School uniform in Nursery is not compulsory, however we do recommend it - there's lots of messy/wet play that happens each day and having a Nursery uniform saves children's home clothes from getting stained!
The Nursery uniform is:
Purple CTK jumper or cardigan
White polo shirt
black or grey trousers/leggings/jogging bottoms
Skirt/black or grey pinafore dress/purple and white check dress
Black sensible shoes
Jewellery is not allowed in Nursery with the exception of one small pair of stud earrings.
Please remember to send your child with a coat every day as well as plenty of spare clothes (including underwear and socks!)
