Year 4 M Shed Visit 

On Wednesday, our Year 4 class visited the M Shed for a workshop about Bristol's Saxon roots. 

The children had the opportunity to handle replica artefacts and used clues to learn about life in the past. 

The children travelled to and from the centre of Bristol using public transport, which is a fantastic learning experience in itself! As always, the children were brilliantly behaved and a credit to CTK! 

After School Club Changes 

Please be aware of the following upcoming changes to our after school club provision: 

CHILL TIME KLUB 

There will be no Chill Time Klub on the following dates: 

19th November 

16th December 

19th December (this is the last day of term so there will be NO clubs running) 

Outstanding Achievement 

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge congratulations to Miss Dale! 

When she's not working extremely hard in our Nursery Class, Miss Dale spends her time working with Girls' Brigade and has recently been appointed as the National  Youth President!  This fantastic role will see her being involved in lots of high-profile events...including speaking at the Houses of Parliament!

We already know that Miss Dale works incredibly hard educating and supporting the youngest members of our school family, and we are certain she'll do a fantastic job working to improve the lives of girls and young women across the entire country!! 

We hope you join us in wishing her all the best in this new role she's been awarded! 

Earrings 

At the end of last term, we reminded parents about the rules regarding wearing earrings to school. 

Children are welcome to wear one pair of stud earrings. They should not be wearing hooped or dangling earrings under any circumstances. These types of earrings are a health and safety risk. 

From next week, should your child be seen to be wearing them at school, they will be covered with tape and you will be asked to remove them before the next school day. 

We thank you for your ongoing support with this matter. 

School Nurse Team Support 

On Friday 28th November we will be joined in school by Lianne, from the School Nurse Team. She will be available to meet with parents and carers to support with a variety of issues you may have surrounding your child's health. 

Lianne will be available during Coffee Morning (9.00 - 9.30am) so please feel free to pop in and see her if you have any concerns you would like to discuss. 

Bristol Family Hubs 

On Friday 19th December, we will once again be joined for the morning by Diane from Bristol Family Hubs. 

Diane will be in with us from 9 - 11am - no appointment needed, just pop in and say hello!

Family Hubs can support parents and carers with a range of issues, such as: 

• Support for wellbeing and mental health

• Parenting support 

• Housing and debt advice 

• Youth and play services

Children in Need 2025 

Thank you to everyone who sent their child in with a donation to Children in Need today - we have raised £141! 

Headteachers Awards 

If your child has received a Head Teachers award this week, you are welcome to join us for Celebration Assesmbly on Monday to help them celebrate as they are awarded their certificate. Please arrive at school at 2.40pm ready for assembly to start at 2.45pm 

Year 1

Adonai - For being so resilient in his maths work whilst looking at number bonds to 10 and supporting his peers to complete the task also.

Mosope and Phoebe - For taking the time to write their R.E. this week about The Visitation of  Mary and Elizabeth and linking it to the Hail Mary Prayer. 

Year 2

Radian, Tanya & Flo - For their thoughtful and beautiful writing and art about God's Creation

Year 3

 Steve  -  For trying so hard when working independently and always listening and giving 100% effort 

Year 4

Amaya - For settling into Y4 seamlessly and making such a great start! 

Year 5

 Lillie - For always trying her best, listening well & working independently 

Year 6

 Elaine - For absorbing everything she is taught, and applying it independently. Her fraction work is a great example of this! 

NURSERY CLASS NEWS

We have had quite an important week this week. The children have learned about the importance of odd sock day and how we accept everyone for who they are, that it is good to be different and how we make good choices for ourselves and towards/ with others.

They all crafted a pair of socks out of different materials. Each sock is displayed on a washing line in the nursery, reminding all those who enter that we accept everyone and everyone is welcome.

On Tuesday, the children partook in a 2 minute silence, learned of the meaning behind poppies and why we take the time to think of the people who fought/ fight to keep us safe.

They printed, painted and coloured poppies and fields of poppies for the rest of the day. In the afternoon the children further painted purple poppies to remember the animals who are/ were lost in battle too. 

The rest of this week, the children have been really engaging themselves within their play, using lots of good thought within their constructing, telling in-depth stories, such as making planes out of chairs and materials in class for a nursery holiday. Their immersion in their play is wonderful to be a part of and assist within. They are making amazing progress in their development!

The children have now learned three more Makaton signs.

As a reward for their excellent attendance, they have earned a non-uniform day on Thursday 20th November!
