Year 3/4 Camp
Years 3 and 4 had a fantastic time away on Thursday and Friday for their overnight stay at Barton Camp.
We've already uploaded some photos to our school Facebook Page, but keep an eye out for more pics in next week's newsletter!
Meet the Teacher Information
A big thank you to all the parents who attended our Meet the Teacher meetings this week - it was great to see so many of you!
If you were unable to make it to the meetings, you can now find the information that was given out on the 'learning' section of our website.
Our Curriculum Overview page will show you this years curriculumn for the whole school - but will also give you individual details for your child's class.
If there is any information that you need, that you are unable to find on these pages, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Flu Vaccinations
Next week, our school nurse team will be in school to administer the winter flu vaccinations to children from Reception-Year 6.
The flu vaccination is a great way to protect your child from winter illness, and is a simple spray up the nose - there are no injections involved.
If you've not yet given your consent for your child's vaccination, you can do so here:
https://imms.sirona-cic.org.uk/flu/2025/consent?v=4
If you have any issued with the link above, you can contact the school nurse team at sirona.sch-imms@nhs.net or 0300 124 5515

Do you feel your child needs to be assessed?
If you have had ongoing concerns about your child needing special support in school please see below:
Many parents have made enquiries about referrals for assessment for ADHD or Autism.
Currently, as there is a backlog of assessments, the best and fastest route is to request the 'Right to Choose' pathway with your child's GP.
If you are going to do this please let Mrs Jordan know as some GPs are asking for a letter of support to accept the request. Thank you.
Anniversary Mass
On the anniversary of his death, there will be a special Mass in honour of Father Michael.
Father Michael was a beloved member of our school and church community and has been sorely missed this past year.
If you would like to join us, the Mass will take place at Christ the King Church on Sunday 21st September at 5.00pm.
Breakfast Club
It's always been said, that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it's true! Especially for children who spend their days learning and being active in the playground.
Children who are hungry can struggle to concentrate, so making sure they eat breakfast before the school day is imperative to ensuring they benefit fully from their time here.
Eating a good breakfast in the morning wakes up the brain, improves concentration, reduces irritability and gives a child a stable routine for the rest of the day.
As you know, we run a school Breakfast Club from 8am each day which offers children a variety of food options - toast with different toppings, a choice of cereal, and plenty of fruit! Children also get the opportunity to socialise with their friends in a relaxing and calm atmosphere before the school day begins.
Breakfast Club costs just £1 for children in Reception-Year 6. Nursery children are welcome to attend for a charge of £3.50 however places are limited.
Please be reminded however that breakfast is only served until 8.20am, and children arriving after this time will miss the opportunity to receive breakfast.
We hope to see many more children starting the day right and joining us for Breakfast Club!
If your child has received a Head Teachers award this week, you are welcome to join us for Celebration Assesmbly on Monday to help them celebrate as they are awarded their certificate. Please arrive at school at 2.40pm ready for assembly to start at 2.45pm
Year 1
Beatrice - for being brave everyday in phonics by having a go even when she is not 100% sure on her spellings. She always tries her best, showing good listening without fail during carpet times.
Year 2
Keira - for her fantastic effort and independence in phonics. Well done, Keira!
Brody - for having such a positive start at CTK. You have set an amazing example and made new friends already. Well done, Brody!
Year 3
Jason - for using the skills he had learnt to write a fantastic persuasive letter from Rainbow crayon
Year 5
Toby & Lilanna - for their beautiful vocabulary choices in our fronted adverbial lesson
Year 6
Lily-Rose- For showing independence when approaching her work. She listens so attentively in class, and then works hard to achieve the task.
The children have been settling into nursery over the last few weeks and starting to build relationships with each other.
We have had a strong focus on the Colour Monster, with different colours meaning different emotions.
Yellow - Happy
Pink - Loved
Red - Angry
Grey - Scared
Blue - Sad
Green - Calm
The children have helped paint a mixed up colour monster that is currently on display above the individual emotions too. This helps the children develop their emotional understanding and support their emotional regulation too.
We have also started to learn about the creation story and how God created the world and everything in it. The children currently know that God created everything and on the first day, he created darkness and light. They are currently learning about day with the sky to separate the water from above (rain) and the water below (seas)
Linked below are the songs and videos we have been watching and learning in nursery.
It would be useful if these are played at home too:
Creation Song
Creation Story
Our God is a Great Big God
Count Back Cat From 10

Alongside their playing, exploring and development of social skills, the children have been learning different Makaton signs.
They have learned:
