Year 5 and 6 Camp
Last week, our Year 5s and 6s started of the school year with a residential visit to Deanfield Study Centre.
The children spent 3 days taking part in activities such as canoeing, zip-lining and circus skills and getting to know their new teachers and TAs outside of thier normal classroom environments.
All the children were impecibly behaved and were an absolute credit to us - we couldn't be prouder of them!
We love running camps for our pupils - it's a fantastic way to get to know our children and allow them to develop their independence and skills outside of the normal school day, but we couldn't provide adventures like this without the support of our staff.
Our dedicated team give up their own time to support our children with these events, and we're eternally grateful for all the hard work they all put it to give the children the best time possible! Thanks Team CTK!!
Late Collections
We are only at the end of the first full week of the year, and unfortunately we have already had a significant number of children who have been collected late at the end of the school day.
Please can we politely remind parents and carers of the importance of collecting your child from school on time. The school day ends at 3.20pm and when children are not collected, this impacts on the time of our school staff.
Please be reminded that we have a 'Charges and Remissions' policy in place, which means that should you collect your child late on more than one occassion, you may be charged for this:
'Collecting children is the responsibility of the parent / career. Due to the impact this is having on staff, the school reserves the right to start charging after 5 occurrences (In a term) where a parent is late to collect their child / children by 10 minutes. After the 6th occurrence the charge will be £5.00. If after this there is a continuation of persistent lateness, the fee will increase by 10% on each subsequence late collection.'
To view the full 'Charges and Remissions' policy, please see the policies page of the school website
Thank you for your ongoing support with this issue.
New School Year Mass
We would like to invite all parents and carers to join us for our first Mass of the school year.
The Mass will take place at 2.00pm on Friday 20th September at the Church of Christ the King and will include readings from our new Chaplaincy Team.
We look forward to seeing you all there.

Pupil Flu Vaccinations
The School Nurse Team will be coming into school to administer Flu Immunisations to pupils in Reception - Year 6 later this month.
If you would like your child to receive their Flu Immunisation, please click the link below to provide consent:
https://imms.sirona-cic.org.uk/flu/2023/consent?v=1.23
The deadline to consent is 12noon on Tuesday 24th September - if you have not registered by this time, you will need to arrange your child's vaccination through your GP.
School Choir
Our school choir is now back up and running and we need more voices!
The Choir is open to all children in years 3-6 and there are lots of exciting opportunities for them to take part in throughout the school year - starting with a Christmas performance at the Bristol Beacon next term.
If your child is interested in joining, you can sign up through the Schoool Gateway App, or speak to Miss Morse in the school office.
Parking and Dropping Off
As we start a new school year, please can we remind parents about parking during drop off and pick up times.
Parents and Carers should not be parking on the zig-zag lines under any circumstances. Not only is it extremely dangerous, as it obstructs the view of other road users and pedestrians, it is also illegal, and drivers caught parking in these areas will be reported to our local community policing team.
Parents and Carers should also not be stopping in the road and allowing children to jump out of the car.
There is plenty of parking available on Filwood Broadway allowing parents to safely walk their children in to school.
Thank you for your co-operation with this matter and supporting us to keep all of our children safe.

Welcome back to a new school year and thank you to all those families who are already working hard to ensure their children are in school, on time, every day!
Please be aware of the following reminders:
Attendance Champions
BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Year 1 who have achieved 99% Attendance this week!! This success means that they have earned a non-uniform day next week!

Remember, all classes have the opportunity to earn themselves a non-uniform day - all they need to do is be in school on time, every day!!
Lateness
Doors are open for children to come in to school from 8.40am and children should be in school ready for registration by 8.50am.
Children arriving after 9.00am will recieve late mark and those who arrive after 9.20am will recieve an unauthorised mark for the morning session. Multiple occurances of lateness can have a negative effect on your child's overall attendance and in some cases may result in a penalty notice (fine).
