Year 6 SATS - Tuesday 9th - Friday 12th May

Year 6 SATs will take place next week

A Huge well done to all the Year 6's and the hard work they have put in over the last few weeks of term. You have all showed us your best effort and concentration. You've all done everything you can and now it's time to show off what you can do. Enjoy your long weekend, relax and get an early bedtime on Monday night!

The timetable for the week is as follows:

This is a very important week for our pupils and it is essential that children attend school every day in order to sit their tests. Unless a child is unwell, children not attending school will not be able to sit these assessments, that they have worked so hard to prepare for.

A free breakfast will be available to all children during this week so all children are invited to join us in Breakfast Club from 8am to ensure they are in school on time and have a positive start to the day.

We would like to remind parents about the importance of your child knowing their times tables!

Times table knowledge not only supports your child's ability to calculate quickly, but in addition, supports other topics in maths such as fractions, calculating area and problem solving.

Here are some ways to help your child practice and improve their times tables:

Download the 1 minute app

Yes just one minute! This is for children who are still learning their tables. There is a wall chart to go with this so please feel free to ask the school to print it for you.

Mock Multiplication Test Check (Year 4 Test) for use at home:

All children could use this to practice their times tables recall for all of the tables

Coronation of Charles III and Camilla

This weekend, the country will be celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort. This is an historic event and whilst we are unable to enjoy celebrations earlier due to SATS, we will be celebrating this wonderful event on the afternoon of Friday 12th May, starting with a special Coronation themed lunch.

Bullying Concerns

In School of Christ the King we do our very best to address and concerns about bullying or possible bullying. Our policy is ‘ to prevent all forms of bullying amongst pupils.  To declare that bullying will not be tolerated and that all incidents will be taken seriously’.

Sometimes we hear that bullying concerns are being raised in the comminity that may not have been shared with the school. If you ever have any concerns that your child may be a victim of bullying, please come in and see us immediately, so we can address the problem. A copy of our full policy in on our website: https://www.ctk.education/important-information/key-policies

If you have raised an issue, and you have concerns it has not been dealt with, please contact Mr Condon. This practice is in line with our Complaints Policy which is also available on our key policies page.

Attendance

Congratulations to the following classes who have achieved fantastic attendance this week:

Year 1: 98%

Year 3: 99%

Year 4: 99%

These are fantastic figures and hopefully we can see more classes achieving this in the coming weeks.

Remember, classes that get 100% attendance for the week will be rewarded with a non-uniform day!
