Year 6 Leavers' Mass & Bristol Beacon Visit
On Wednesday, our Year 6 class went to Clifton Cathedral for their Leavers' Mass.
They were joined by Bishop Bosco Macdonald and children from Catholic schools across the city for the first of many special events to guide them to the end of their time at primary school.
They sang beautifully during the service and we are all incredibly proud of how they represented CTK!
After their Mass, Year 6 travelled to Bristol Beacon for a special 'Bass Boost' event which gave them the opportunity to try out a variety of different instruments.
They had a fantastic time rocking out on guitars and were well and truly puffed out after trying out the tuba! Who knows, perhaps we've got a future double bassist in our midst!
September 2025 Staffing
We have had lots of families ask in recent weeks who will be teaching their child for the next school year.
Our Senior Leadership Team have been working hard to plan staffing for next year, and we put lots of effort into this to ensure that staff are placed in a way that best supports your children and their needs. With this in mind, we are not able to share the plans with you yet, but please rest assured, information will be shared with you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued patience regarding this matter.
Feast of St Peter and Paul - Mass
On Tuesday 1st July, we will be holding a Mass to celebrate the Feat of St Peter & Paul.
The Mass will be held at Christ the King Church at 9.30am and all families are welcome to join us.
Warm Weather Advice
As the weather has been much, much warmer this week and is expected to continue, we would like to remind parents to send their children into school prepared for the day's weather.
We strongly recommend that all children come to school wearing sun-cream and with a water bottle, which they will be able to refill throughout the school day.
We also ask that children bring in some kind of hat to provide protection from the sun whilst on the playground. Please be reminded however that all items of clothing should be named to avoid being lost.
Playground Improvements
Our builder friends have been back in with us this week, this time making improvements to our playground.
We've had a new fence installed and eventually the area will be set up as a calm corner for children to use for some quiet time during play times. It's the perfect spot for some shade, with its very own tree canopy and we look forward to sharing more pictures with you once the work is fully completed.
If your child has received a Head Teachers award this week, you are welcome to join us for Celebration Assesmbly on Monday to help them celebrate as they are awarded their certificate. Please arrive at school at 2.40pm ready for assembly to start at 2.45pm

Year 6
All of Year 6 - The children all had the responsibility to be part of the Mass in Clifton Cathedral, followed by the Bristol Beacon. They all played their part in making a special day, and even received positive comments from other adults!
Wow, it has been a hot week!
The children have handled the heat much better than the adults in nursery though.
Throughout the week, there have been lots of water activities available to the children to explore. They have made potions with sliced fruits, glitter and scented water. They have cleaned a lot of the outdoor toys with warm soapy water and various items such as toothbrushes and sponges, painted the fences and worked out how high they can throw bowls of water too.
The children have also been doing a lot of experiments. On Tuesday afternoon, some made a rocky road. They melted a mixture of chocolate butter and golden syrup together, then crushed biscuits. In a bowl they mixed the melted mixture, biscuits and marshmallows. It made the nursery smell amazing, and I am sure it will equally taste amazing when they try it today.
Some of the children used several different items on Thursday morning to test if they sink or float. Miss Dale put some bits in a box to test and the children also expanded the test by grabbing other items from the outside area to test also. Their questioning and curiosity was great to hear and see.
They also tried to help explode a balloon on Thursday, but it did not quite go to plan. The children used their sight, smell, hearing and touch throughout the experiment however to explore what may and did happen.
Some of the children also did an RE craft independently. The activity was laid out, with an 'end goal' picture and the children could float to the activity if they chose. Everyone who chose to do the activity, did it extremely well. They did not all complete the desired goal, but instead showed their creativity off and used some exceptional reasoning as to why they chose to do what they did.
The children have been working super hard this week, as they do every week, and the nursery team have been amazed by their passion, creativity and dedication to all the learning they do!
Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine,
Miss Dale and The Nursery Team
