Year 6 Transition
With only 4 weeks left of the school year, Year 6 have been working hard getting ready for their final days at CTK.
Today, a number of children visited Oasis Daventry Road Secondary for their formal transition day, and the rest of the class will be visiting their chosen secondary schools over the coming weeks. Here is a reminder of those upcoming dates:
1st - 3rd July - Bedminster Down Secondary
3rd July - Oasis John Williams, St Bernadette & Montpelier High School
4th July - Cotham School
We are also almost finished finalising the dates and times for their Leavers' Mass and Assembly and will let you know as soon as these are confirmed.
Super Safe Swimmers
Year 4 took part in the RLSS Drowning Prevention Week and learnt to be a safer, smarter and stronger swimmer.
The children had to wear their pajamas and practised floating, moving in the water and finally removing them to replicate falling into water whilst out and about.
Megan said, 'It was really fun and we learnt that if we fall into water, the easiest option is to float on your back to keep yourself safe.
Mouhammad, 'We learnt what the different flags on a beach mean. The black and white one means it is safe to surf!'
All of the children were fantastic and are safer swimmers as a result of the session. Our instructor, Kate, always speaks very highly of Year 4 and told the class how brilliant they were on Wednesday.
Upcoming Club Changes
Please be aware of the following upcoming changes to our After School Club Provision:
Tuesday 25th June - MINI CHILL ONLY & NO GARDENING KLUB
KS1 Ball skills will be the only club running on this date, finishing at 4pm.
Tuesday 16th July & Friday 19th July - NO CLUBS RUNNING
We will update you of any further changes as and when we become aware of them. If you have already booked your child in for any of these sessions, they will be cancelled and refunded.
Access to School Site
Please can we remind parents and children that they should not be using the side lane to access the back gates before 8.30am.
The lane is used by staff and visitors to access the car park until this time and there have been a number of occassions recently where children and adults have been in the lane whilst cars are driving in - which is extremely dangerous.
The back gates/doors open at 8.40am so there should be no need for pedestrian access before 8.30am
Thank you for your ongoing co-operation with this.
