In D&T children have the experiences to develop their creativity and imagination. We give children opportunities to work practically when designing and making products. We do this through:
Experience - Children develop a range of designing, making and evaluating skills across a range of contexts, inspired by real life designers and builders
Language - Children use a range technical vocabulary to plan, collaborate and evaluate their work
Challenge - Throughout their time in school children build on their prior experience, knowledge and skills
Physical development - Children are given regular opportunities to use tools and materials to build their own constructions
Developing independence - All children are given access to high quality learning in D&T
Year 2 have been learning how to use kitchen equipment, including knives, safely. They have been tasting seasonal vegetables and designing their own dishes.
As part of the Filwood Regeneration Project, Year 4 worked with Architects to design and build scale models of what they would like their new community library to look like.
