It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Father Michael.
Father Michael died in the early hours of this morning, after a long and brave battle with illness.
Father Michael was a much loved member of our school and church community. He had a huge passion and fondness for our school and was a champion of all the children and staff at Christ the King - he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Father Michael's family and the church community at this sad time.
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will live, even though they die." John 11:25
May he rest in peace

Year 3 & 4 Camp
Years 3 and 4 went off to Barton Camp this week for an exciting night away.
The children had a brilliant time, and were so well behaved - they were all an absolute credit to our school.
We're sure they'll have lots of exciting stories to tell when they get home today - we look forward to welcoming them back to school on Monday and wish them all a very restful weekend!
Once again, a big thank you to our dedicated (and adventurous) staff for giving up their own time to provide our children with these opportunities - we couldn't do it without them!
Relationship & Sex Education
Following previous consultations with parents, we are currently reviewing our RSE coverage and will consulting parents and governors on this over the next few weeks.
Next week a parent portal will be made available for you to view our current scheme. You will then have the opportunity to speak with us and and ask any questions you may have about the way this subject is taught in our school.
Jewellery & Uniform
Please can we once again politely remind parents and carers that children should not be wearing hoop or dangly earrings to school - these are not appropraite school wear and are a health and safety risk.
Late Collections
Unfortunately, we are once again having to remind parents about the importance of collecting children on time at the end of the school day.
The school day ends at 3.20pm and when children are not collected, this impacts on the time of our school staff.
We once again remind you that we have a 'Charges and Remissions' policy in place, which means that should you collect your child late on more than one occassion, you may be charged for this:
'Collecting children is the responsibility of the parent / career. Due to the impact this is having on staff, the school reserves the right to start charging after 5 occurrences (In a term) where a parent is late to collect their child / children by 10 minutes. After the 6th occurrence the charge will be £5.00. If after this there is a continuation of persistent lateness, the fee will increase by 10% on each subsequence late collection.'
To view the full 'Charges and Remissions' policy, please see the policies page of the school website
Thank you for your ongoing support with this issue.

Please be aware of the following reminders:
Attendance Champions
BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Year 2 who have achieved 99% Attendance this week!! This success means that they have earned a non-uniform day.
Year 2 Children are welcome to come in to school in their own clothes on Friday 27th September.
Remember, all classes have the opportunity to earn themselves a non-uniform day - all they need to do is be in school on time, every day!!
Lateness
Doors are open for children to come in to school from 8.40am and children should be in school ready for registration by 8.50am.
Children arriving after 9.00am will recieve late mark and those who arrive after 9.20am will recieve an unauthorised mark for the morning session. Multiple occurances of lateness can have a negative effect on your child's overall attendance and in some cases may result in a penalty notice (fine).
Breakfast Club is available to all pupils from 8.00am (charged at £1 per day for children R-Y6 and £3 for Nursery) and is a great way to ensure children are in school on time, and ready for the school day.
