School Choir - Summer SIng Preparation
This week, our school choir were joined by our friend Richard from Bristol Beacon for some Summer Sing preparation...
The children that take part in Choir have been working really hard to learn their songs, and Richard said they were just amazing!
The Summer Sing is a special concert that takes place every year with schools from across the city, giving children the chance to sing on stage infront of a live audience. We look forward to sharing more information about the event with parents in Term 6.
Play on the Pitch @ Ashton Gate
On Monday, Mr Prichard took a group of Year 6 children to a special sporting event at Ashton Gate Stadium - home of Bristol City FC (and Bristol Bears Rugby Team!)
'Play on the Pitch' was organised by the School Sports Partnership and gave the children the opportunity to play against other schools on the same ground as some footballing legends!
As members of the School Sports Partnership our children get to be involved in some fantastic sporting events and we look forward to being able to offer more opportunities to more pupils through Term 6 and next school year!
Year 5 - Shaping the Future
This week, Year 5 took part in a special consultation with Bristol Libraries to share their ideas about the future of children's libraries in Bristol
As a class of book lovers, they relished the opportunity to have their say!
This consultation will help impact library services across the city, and they may even get to see their ideas in reality when the new Filwood Library opens!

The class have been quite active this week. They had a change in routine on Tuesday for their individual photos and it certainly knocked them out of sorts for the whole of Wednesday.
This week, we have aimed for calm in the nursery. The children have kept the same routine, bar Tuesday, but the activities provided have been simpler and repeated to allow the children not to have cognitive overload combined with their high levels of tiredness. They have certainly shown their perseverance by completing the lengthier tasks; the same tasks that they would have given up on a few months ago.
We have had a good last week of term in the nursery and hope you all have a restful half term ahead of the last 8 weeks of this year. We have lots to look forward to next term, including all of our older nursery children preparing for their new beginning in Reception come September!
Have a wonderfully sunny half term,
Miss Dale and the Nursery Team
We love sharing news of the brilliant things our children achieve, and with this in mind, starting in Term 6 there will be a new addition to the 'Awards and Celebrations' section of our newsletter where we get to to show off even more! Here is a little sneak peek of our WONDERFUL WORK SHOWCASE...
Some fantastic writing by Ryan in Year 1
The Wednesday Word
The Wednesday Word is a special publication created to connect home, school and parish.
Every Wednesday a ‘word’, inspired by the coming Sunday’s Gospel, will be suggested for families to talk about in the home. The Wednesday Word is structured around the Sunday Gospel, because evidence shows that Gospel values really do help family relationships to thrive.
