'Try It' Sports Festival
We had a very active start to the week, with a number of Key Stage 2 pupils travelling to Ashton Park Secondary School to take part in their 'Try It' Sports Festival.
It was a great opportunity for them to play some different games and face some new challenges.
The children had a fantastic time getting stuck in to all of the activities and did a brilliant job of representing CTK!
Christmas at Spiegeltent
On Tuesday, our Year 1 and 2 children were treated to an extra special Christmas concert at Spiegeltent on the Harbourside.
Our pupils joined children from other schools across the city, for a very festive sing-along, and our staff also got into the Christmas spirit by taking to the stafe themselves!
It was wonderful to be able to share this experience with the children, in such a beautiful setting, and they did us proud by behaving brilliantly throughout the event.
We look forward to sharing more experiences like this with our children in 2025.
Bristol Beacon Winter Sing
The festivities continued on Wednesday, with our School Choir heading to Bristol Beacon for their final rehearsals for the School's Winter Sing.
Wednesday evening saw the children perform infront of a live audience, and we couldn't have been prouder of how they did!
We're sure that those of you who were lucky enough to attend the concert will agree, we really do have some stars in the making! A big well done to all of them!

Reporting Concerns

Reception Class Admissions - September 2026
If you, or someone you know, has a child that was born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022, it's now time to apply for your Reception Class place.
We will be holding a number of open events to give parents and carers the opportunity to visit our fantastic Reception Class, so please contact the school office to book a place!
We are nearly at the end of the term and we are ALL feeling it. The children are having lots of fun with their learning but are also very tired.
At the end of each day, at least one child is having a Power Nap before home time.
Never the less, they have been doing lots this week...
Everyday they have a nativity rehearsal, with their first costume practise being today!
So far they have wowed us all with how amazing they’ve been at singing and behaving while practising.
In between, they have been loving their bucket time in class.
This week we have made shaving foam rockets and done flour shaking too. So far they have managed stage 1 and 2 very well. Next we will be working on turn taking to help their building attention span in fun, engaging and supportive ways.
The children have loved Reggie the elf getting up to mischief throughout the nursery and playing lots of tricks on them. They have also been exploring lots of crafts by making hanging snowmen, creating their own wrapping paper, pinecone Christmas trees and other bits.
We hope you have a restful weekend ahead of the final week of term 2.

Attendance Champions
Unfortunately, none of our classes have managed over 99% attendance this week - lets try again next week!
Remember, all classes have the opportunity to earn themselves a non-uniform day - all they need to do is be in school on time, every day!
Absences for Illness
As is usual for this time of year, with the cold weather comes germs and we understand that sometimes children are too ill to attend school.
However we recommend looking at the following guidance if you are unsure about whether your child is well enough to come in: Should I keep my child off school?
Please be reminded that school always has a stock of Calpol, and can administer medication to pupils should they feel a little under the weather. Minor colds and coughs are normal childhood illnesses and should not be reasons to keep children away from school.
Please also be reminded that whilst children are welcome at school with minor illnesses, we cannot have them in school if they have suffered sickness or diarrhoea. Children should stay off of school and not return until there has been 48 hours since the last episode of illness.
There may be circumstances that we ask for medical evidence in order for us to authorise your child's absence - this may happen if the absence is for an extended period of time, or if there is a pattern of repeated illness, or if their attendance is below 92% due to other absences. If medical evidence is not provided, this may be recorded as an unauthorised absence which may result in a penalty notice (fine)
The Wednesday Word
The Wednesday Word is a special publication created to connect home, school and parish.
Every Wednesday a ‘word’, inspired by the coming Sunday’s Gospel, will be suggested for families to talk about in the home. The Wednesday Word is structured around the Sunday Gospel, because evidence shows that Gospel values really do help family relationships to thrive.
Ten:Ten Faith Newsletter - December
The Ten:Ten monthly parent newsletter gives you an overview of the content children will experience in school throughout the month and suggestions of ways for you to engage with them about it at home.
