This term at Christ the King, we have been focusing on Solidarity - showing that we are hopeful in living in communion with one another, both in school and within the wider community.
One of the ways we have been promoting Solidarity at CTK is through our British Values. Whilst we have a culturally diverse school community, British Values are something we all share, and bring us closer together to promote unity.
It's important to us that all of our children and families feel welcome, supported and united with one another and we strive to make our school a safe space for everyone who visits.
Uniform & Jewellery
In preparation for Term 2, please can we politely remind parents and carers about the expectations around school uniform.
https://www.ctk.education/info/school-uniform
Please be aware that we have made the following change:
Children are welcome to wear leggings, however these must be PLAIN black with no logos.
Correct uniform also extends to school PE kit and it's important that children are wearing the correct kit on their PE Day.
We would also like to politely ask that whilst skirts an shorts are a part of our uniform, please can we make sure that they are of an appropriate length.
We would also like to remind parents that the only jewellery that should be worn to school is one pair of stud earrings. Children should not be wearing hooped or dangling earrings under any circumstances. These types of earrings are a health and safety risk, and should your child be seen to be wearing them at school, they will be covered with tape and you will be asked to remove them before the next school day.
Thank you for your ongoing co-operation with this matter.
School Council
Please join us in welcoming our 2025/2026 School Councillors into their new roles...
Our brand new team of councillors have already started meetings with Mr Condon, and sharing their great ideas. We look forward to seeing their ideas come to life around the school soon!
Toys and Personal Belongings
Please can we remind parents that children should not be bringing toys or other personal belongings into school with them. This also includes things like bag-charms and keyrings.
Not only are these items a distraction to learning, they can also cause disagreements amonst friendship groups which has an adverse effect on pupils wellbeing and enjoyment of school.
We are also, as a school, unable to accept any responsibility for loss or breakage of such items, should these things happen.
Collections/Drop Offs - School Car Park
You may have noticed this week that a white line has be drawn in the school car park. This has been put in place as a safety measure and we would like to ask that going forward that parents, carers and younger siblings remind behind the line at drop-off and pick-up times.
School Meals
When we return to school in Term 2, there will be a new school meals menu available. You can view the new menu here: School Meals Menu
Odd Socks for Anti-Bullying
Anti-Bullying Week begins on Monday 10th November and we will be kicking the week off by inviting the children in wearing odd socks!
This week has been super busy for the children. They have been learning all about Diwali - The Festival of Light!
They have re-enacted the story of Rama and Sita, including building a bridge of blocks to rescue Sita. They have listened, explored and created lots of different pieces of artwork to display their learning and budding knowledge of different and important religious celebrations. They have been very eager and respectful within their learning.
Well done all!
On Wednesday the children all helped to make apple and blackberry crumbles! They first made the crumble with butter, flour and sugar. Afterwards, some children helped to heat the frozen blackberries in the staff room. Finally, Monrose put the crumble and apple, blackberry mix together in individual portions for everyone to try. Some loved it, some didn't, some only liked the crumble topping!
It was part of their autumn explorations as blackberries are autumnal fruits.
This term has been super long and the children are now super tired and in need of a well deserved rest. They have done lots of playing, crafting, chatting and developing of their skills this term. Every child has made wonderful progress in different areas unique to them and have all made the nursery staff very proud! They are all kind, helpful and brilliant little learners to have.
We cannot wait for another exciting term jam packed with fun and learning!
Enjoy the much needed half term and we shall see you soon!

Attendance Champions
Please can we once again remind parents that they should not be taking holidays during term time. If you book a holiday outside of the designated school holidays, it is important that you complete a Leave of Absence Request Form to inform us of your plans to take your child out of school. Parents should also be aware that any holidays booked during term time will result in a penalty notice (fine).
Lateness
Please can we remind parents and carers that the school day begins 8.50am. Our doors open at 8.40am to allow children time to settle in before the bell.
We have recently had a number of children arriving late, which is not only disruptive to their own learning but to the rest of their class.
It also has an effect on the running of the school office and kitchen.
