Lenten Fundraising
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone for supporting us in our Lenten fundraising last term - We are very pleased to announced that we raised a fantastic £1116.00!!
Easter Mass
On Wednesday 30th April, Father Richard from St Nicholas of Tolentine Parish will be joining us for an Easter Mass.
Parents and carers are welcome to join us in Christ the King Church at 9.30am.
Breakfast Club
Please can we politely remind parents that all children attending Breakfast Club must be booked in via the Arbor App.
From next week, if your child arrives at Breakfast Club without a booking, parents and children will be directed to the school office so that Miss Morse can support you with accessing Arbor and booking sessions.
With this in mind, please also be reminded that children should not be left unattended at the Breakfast Club doors (with the exception of pupils in KS2 who walk by themselves). Please ensure that you are walking your child to the doors to be received by staff - until children are inside the school building, they are the responsibilty of their parents and carers. Parents should also not be stopping in the road to let children exit vehicles and walk to the door alone.
Thank you in advance for your ongoing co-operation with this matter.
Bristol Beacon Summer Sing
In Term 6, our school choir will be taking part in the Summer Sing at Bristol Beacon.
This is an exciting opportunity for them, and includes the opportunity to perform infront of a real audience at Bristol Beacon.
Mr Condon will be practicing the songs with them during Choir Club each week, but if your child attends choir, and would like to practice at home, all of the resources are available here
Policies
As you know, our school's key policies are available to parents through the 'Key Policies' section of our website and parents are encouraged to take a look.
We have recently made some additions to the policy list with our Separated Parents Policy and Policy on Parental Acceptable Behavior in and Around School.
Parking
We would once again like to remind parents about the importance of parking both respectfully and legally at drop of and pick up times.
On a number of occasions, we have requested parents do not park on the zig-zag lines. Unfortunately, this is still an issue. Zig-zag lines are in place to ensure that our pupils are kept safe and should you be caught parking illegally, your details may be passed to our local police team.
It is also unfortunate to report that we have recently had complaints from local residents, regarding the blocking of driveways and access to housing.
Blocking driveways and dropped kerbs is also a parking offence, so as above, if you are seen to be persistently parking in this manner, your details may be passed on to issue a parking fine.
There is ample parking on Filwood Broadway, and in other places around the community, that parents can utilise and then walk into school with children.
Please support us, and the safety of all of our children, by parking both legally and respectfully going forward.
We may have only had a four day week, but the children have been super busy.
On Tuesday, the children shocked all the adults with how calm they returned to the school routine. We expected chaos with the newly returned energy level, post Easter holidays, but the children were super chill instead.
On Wednesday, the children practised their hand-eye coordination with different target practise stations. One had a big hoop, one had a small hoop and the third was a small game of ring toss. The children thought it would be easy and were shocked to discover that it was harder than it looked. They finished the session with some dances that required listening and instruction following. A favourite of ours is the rhythm dance by Danny Go.
Thursday brought chaos but the children all worked super hard and welcomed the new children wonderfully. It was wonderful to see how kind and friendly everyone was with our new children, it helped them settle nicely and calmly. We are super excited to have them in our nursery and see their characters flourish as they settle in fully.
Today may be the end to our short first week back, but we have lots of exciting things planned as we head into Term 5! Our nursery children have started delving into our phase 1 books to help their transition into reception come September. Our pre-nursery children have developed their language and communication skills too, and it has shown through their deepened interactions in their play with each other and the adults in nursery too.
We are blessed to have so many amazing children in our nursery!
Have a restful weekend,
Miss Dale and the Nursery Team

Hi I'm Alice and I work for Bristol Girls Can to I connect with mums in the area. I'm thinking about starting up some informal, friendly walking sessions on Thursday mornings after school drop off.
For me, I love what a difference being active has had on my mental health and would love to help others to take a bit of time to reflect. I'm also full of exercise ideas to signpost if that might be of interest. Above all I just like listening and being around other people.
If you're interested in joining Alice for some walking sessions, or would like more information on Bristol Girls Can, you can message her on 07918845440, speak to Jo Selway on the door at drop off, or pop in to Coffee Morning at CTK on a Friday for more information
