Chaplaincy Commissioning
Today, our Chaplaincy Team visited Clifton Cathedral to receive their chaplaincy badges from Bishop Bosco as part of a special service.
Chaplaincy is an important aspect of the faith life of the school and the team are looking forward to promoting our gospel values around the school and community.

Feast of Christ the King
The Feast of Christ the King is a Catholic celebration that takes place on the last Sunday of the liturgical year in the Catholic faith.
It is a way to recognise Jesus Christ as the 'King of Kings' and honour him as Lord over all creation.
To celebrate The Feast of Christ the King we will be holding a Mass at the church on Friday 22nd November.
The Mass will begin at 9.30am and all parents, carers and families are welcome to join us.
The Matthew Tree Project
A big thank you to everyone who donated food and clothing to our collected for local charity The Matthew Tree Project - we have had an overwhelming response!
We have now finished collecting, so please don't bring anything else in to school. All the items will be delivered to the charity next week, where we are sure they will be gratefully received by those in need.
Odd Socks Day for Anti-Bullying Week
Anti-Bullying Week begins next week and on Tuesday 12th November we will be celebrating 'Odd Sock Day'
It's a great way to celebrate what makes us all unique and there will be lots of activities going on in classes throughout the week to support this years message of 'Choose Respect'
Local Building Works
Thank you to the parents who recently bought to our attention their concerns around traffic accessing the building site during peak school run times;
Mr Condon has spoken with site staff and an agreement has been put in place that no vehicles should be accessing the site at drop off or pick up times.
As these works continue there will be times that disruption is caused to families travelling to and from school. Currently, the pavement opposite the Breakfast Club gates has been blocked by fencing, and we have seen a number of pedestrians walking in the road to get around the area.
Please can we strongly recommend, that instead of walking in the road to avoid the works, an alternative route is found to ensure the safety of families and children.
Thank you for your patience and on-going support with these issues.
Children in Need 2024
We will be celebrating Children in Need in school on Friday 15th November.
Children are welcome to come into school wearing something spotty, or Pudsey themed in exchange for a donation.
School Nurse Visits
Today, our Coffee Morning was joined by Lianne Jenkins, our School Nurse.
Lianne will be joining us on a more regular basis, and will be available to discuss low level issues with parents (bed wetting, sleep advice, healthy eating).
If you would like to speak with Lianne, she will be with us again on Friday 20th December during Coffee Morning, from 9.00am.

Nursery Newsletter
Welcome back to a new term in Nursery Class!
Here's how our Nursery children have started Term 2....
AWARDS & celebrations
We've got no Celebration Assembly next week, as we've got a special visitor from Bristol Beacon in to work with our School Choir.
Have you seen our Gospel Values...
These values were taken, by our Chaplaincy Team, from their studies of Jesus' teaching in the Gospels. In school children and adults demonstrate a strong awareness of these values and these can be witnessed in all walks of school life.
These values are shared and celebrated in our Celebration Assembly every week and added to the 'Tree' in our corridor.

ATTENDANCE
Lateness
We would like to remind parents and carers that the school day begins at 8.40am and arriving late can have a big impact on their learning if it becomes a persistent problem.
If your child arrives after 9.20am, this will be marked as an unauthorised absence for the morning session, which can affect their overall attendance - just 1 lateness means they will lose their 100% attendance award for the term!
COMMUNITy
As you know, there is a lot of work going in to the regeneration of Filwood Broadway, and some of the building work is already underway.
Our pupils have had a great deal of input in the planning of the new area, and it's wonderful to see everything finally starting to take shape.
If you're interested in finding out more about the ongoing redevelopment of the local area, there's a whole website dedicated to the plans and the future of Filwood Broadway!
