Sporting Superstars!
On Monday morning, a mixed team of Year 5 and 6 swimmers represented CTK in a Gala. From 50m butterfly, to a mixed relay, each swimmer showcased their talents. David in Year 6 collected a handful of bronze and silver certificates. The children showed great support for eachother and were a pleasure to take out of school for Mr Condon and Mr Prichard.
On Monday evening, girls from years 5 and 6 took part in a football tournament at Imperial Sports Ground as part of the Ashton Park School Sports Partnership.
The girls played with confidence and determination in each of their 5 games. They can be very proud of their conduct and team spirit throughout the event. The tournament continues for 2 more weeks and the team will be gaining some new players each week to allow lots of our girls to take part. Well done to all involved this week and a special shout out to our top scorer Frankie!
Parents' Evening Thanks
A big thank you to all of the parents and carers who attended parents evening this week.
It was a great success and once again we've had some fantastic feedback from our parent questionnaires.
Please remember that if you have any day to day concerns, you don't need to wait for a parents' evening to discuss them - you are more than welcome to make an appointment at any time through the school office.
Exciting Announcement – Miss Edwards Joins Our Year 5 Team!
We are delighted to welcome back Miss Edwards to School of Christ the King, as our new Year 5 teacher! She will be sharing the class teaching with Mrs. Buckland, and together, they will provide a fantastic learning experience for our Year 5 pupils, alongside the continued support of Mrs Sims.
Miss Edwards brings a wealth of enthusiasm and dedication to her teaching, and we are excited for the positive impact she will have on our school community. Having previously taught at CtK, she is relishing the opportunity to work with our pupils again. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome, as she begins this new chapter at CtK.
First Holy Communion
A number of parents have recently enquired about First Holy Communion for their children this year.
Unfortunately, following the passing of Father Michael, we will be unable to run our ususal sessions through CTK Church this year.
If your child is in Year 3 or above and you wish for them to make their First Holy Communion in 2025, please email the parish office at bristol.calledtomore@cliftondiocese.com with your child's details and they will be in touch with arrangement details.
Lenten Fundraising
This isn't something we say often, but THANKS FOR BREAKING THE RULES!!
The children (and staff!) had a fantastic day breaking all the rules they could, and once again, all of your generous donations have been gratefully received.
Our fundraising continues next week, with our Penny Trail and next week raffle tickets will go on sale for our Easter Egg Raffle that will take place in the last week of term. Tickets will be priced at 20p each or £1 per strip and can be purchased from Class Teachers.
Lost Property
We are absolutely overflowing with lost property!!
Lost property is located in the school foyer and parents are welcome to come and have a look through and retrieve anything that may belong to them!
Anything that is not collected by the end of term, will be packed up and donated.
Please can we take this opportunity to remind parents to LABEL EVERYTHING - this way we can return any lost items quickly!
If your child has received a Head Teachers award this week, you are welcome to join us for Celebration Assesmbly on Monday to help them celebrate as they are awarded their certificate. Please arrive at school at 2.40pm ready for assembly to start at 2.45pm

This week the children have certainly got their energy back. They have been playing lots of running games and have enjoyed finding their lungs!
On Monday, the children helped with an Elmer display by drawing themselves, their friends and their teachers. They discussed what makes them different and were told why we should celebrate everyone, as it would be boring if we had 25 of the same person in the classroom.
On Tuesday, we revisited the story of the Good Samaritan. The children have amazing memories, for they were able to tell Miss Dale what happened, step by step. They remembered how we role played the story when they first heard it, and even used the same words and phrases to describe certain characters as when they first learned the story. We had lots of 'I wonder' questions throughout the story revisit, and the children were able to give well thought answers as to who was a good friend, or who was not and why.
Wednesday's PE session was a circuit, focusing on their balancing, crawling and ability to follow visual instruction for certain movements. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, repeating the circuit several times. Due to it being a circle, the children had to stop and wait at points for their friends in front. They were very kind to each other and it made us very proud to see how much they care for each other.
Thursday felt like a quieter day, with a big cut and stick session in the morning. In small groups, the children cut out lots of pictures and stuck them next to the correct season on a seasons wheel. Some found it a bit tricky, but they asked for help from both their friends and the adults. They were amazingly focused and tried super hard with their cutting skills.
It has been a fun packed, and very long week. The children have been amazing and have come so far. We cannot believe that we only have 2.5 terms left before a lot of them go into reception!

Punctuality
Whilst lateness has greatly improved over the last few weeks, we still have a handful of families arriving after the beginning of the school day.
Please can we politely remind parents and carers that the school day begins at 8.50am and all children should be in by this time.
We open the doors to school at 8.40am to give children plenty of time to come in and be ready to head to Registration, however we have recently had a number of children arriving once the door have been closed.
Children arriving after this will recieve late mark and those who arrive after 9.20am will recieve an unauthorised mark for the morning session.
Not only will lateness have a negative effect on their attendance, it can also impact their learning as they are often missing important information about the day's lessons.
Breakfast Club is available to all pupils from 8.00am (charged at £1 per day for children R-Y6 and £3 for Nursery) and is a great way to ensure children are in school on time, and ready for the school day.
