The Feast of St Peter and Paul
On Tuesday, we had a whole school Mass at Christ the King Church.
As always, the children were wonderfully behaved as we shared some beautiful hymns and readings together.
Remember, parents, carers and families are always welcome to join us for Mass celebrations, so please do join us at our next service.
Upcoming Club Changes

School Choir - Summer Sing
Yesterday our fabulous School Choir took part in the Summer Sing at Bristol Beacon.
They travelled down to the city centre to join other schools for a full day of rehearsals and in the evening, set to the stage to perform in front of a live audience of hundreds of people! What an amazing achievement!
The children were incredibly well behaved throughout the entire event and were a real credit to CTK.
Remember, that all children from Year 3-Y6 are welcome join school choir, so if your child is moving up to KS2 and enjoys singing, make sure to sign them up in September!
Headlice
Please be aware we have had reports of headlice in some classes across the school.
If you notice that your child has head lice, please treat accordingly to avoid them spreading.
Whilst head lice are not dangerous, they can cause serious itching which can be a distraction and are not very pleasant.
For more information on head lice and how to treat them visit https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice-and-nits/
We are now ready to share with you the much anticipated staffing structure for the next school year...
You may notice that there are some new names on this list, as well as some names missing. This is because as well as staff changing classes, some are moving on to pastures new, and some teachers are joining us from other schools...
Happy Retirement Mrs Rowland
The wonderful Mrs Rowland has worked at CTK for a whopping 16 years!
She has seen hundreds of children come and go throughout the years and has taught them all with the same enthusiasm, love and care year after year.
Whilst we will be sad to see her go, she has decided to retire and we're sure you'll agree that she has more than earned it, and there is no one more deserving of a good rest!
We hope you will join us in wishing her all the very best.
New Staff
With Mrs Rowland and Miss Kendall leaving us in September, we were in need of some new teachers - and we've found some great new additions to our CTK team...
Our new staff have already been into school to meet with staff and children, and will be in and out over the next few weeks for transition days, getting to know everyone. If you happen to see them around the school site, please do say hello and give them a positive welcome to the CTK family.
Promotions!
Back in April, we shared with you the news that Mrs Jordan would be stepping up as Deputy Head Teacher. With this in mind, we were in need of a new Assistant Head and we are happy to share with you that Mr Prichard will be taking on this role from September.
Mr Prichard has been a member of the CTK family for 10 years, and has worked hard to support pupils and staff to shape our school community. We hope you'll join us in congratulating him on this exciting new opportunity.
If your child has received a Head Teachers award this week, you are welcome to join us for Celebration Assesmbly on Monday to help them celebrate as they are awarded their certificate. Please arrive at school at 2.40pm ready for assembly to start at 2.45pm

AMAZING AUTHOR ACHIEVEMENTS
As you know, we love sharing out of school successes with you, and we have yet another one this week!
Abby, who is in our Year 6 class, has become a published author at just 11 years old!
Her book, Diary Days, is a fantastic story about the life of a 10 year old girl with a wild imagination...
This is a fantastic achievment for Abby, especially at such a young age, and we are all incredibly proud of her.
There are a few copies of the book in school, so we hope lots of our pupils will take the opportunity to read it when they can!
This week the children have been refining their skills and knowledge to prepare themselves for their next steps.
They have been practising number formation, subitising and honing in their fine motor skills. We have had a particular interest in size order from biggest to smallest, with all the children being super focused and ready to learn/ put their skills into practise.
The children have also been super busy helping to ready the nursery for September by helping to clean and organise, supporting the adults and enjoying the responsibility of making the classroom nice for other children to use it too.
Though we have had a lot of nervousness for their next steps in our reception class, a new school or another fun year in nursery, the children have been practising their kind hands, kind feet and kind words well. They have been sharing better and being extremely considerate of other children's thoughts and feelings.
It is sad to only have two full weeks left of this year, which means we will be saying bye to some of our children as they move onto the next step in their young lives however, the next few weeks are going to be fun filled and exciting.
If you are planning to go away on the last day or two of school, please let Miss Dale know so she can prep your child's work to bring home a few days in advance so they do not miss out on showing you their accomplishments.
Have a lovely restful weekend,
Miss Dale and The Nursery Team
