Welcome Back
Welcome back to a brand new year at CTK!
Our first week has been incredibly calm and positive, and it's been lovely to see all the children return happy and eager to learn. It's so wonderful to see they've remembered our 'Calm, Kind, Consistent' motto over the summer and have already been putting it into practice this week!
We're already looking forward to the wonderful things to come this school year and can't wait to share them with you!
Information Updates
A polite reminder, that if any of your contact information has changed over the summer holidays, it's important that you provide these details to the school office so we can update your records. This includes any change of address or updates in medical information.
Thank you for your ongoing co-operation with this.
Parking
A reminder that parents and carers should not be parking on the zig-zag lines or in the loading bays at drop off or pick up times. There are no exceptions to these rules, even if its 'just for a minute.'
Parking on zig-zag lines, mounting kerbs and stopping in the middle of the road are all extremely dangerous, so please help us to keep our children and community safe by parking safely elsewhere.
Drop off / Pick Up
Please remember that as your child has now changed year group, their
entrance/exit may have changed. Children in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 &
Year 6 should enter and exit through the main reception doors. Children in
Years 3, 4 & 5 should come and go through the back car park gates.
Please can we also remind parents and carers that they should not be
entering the car park area before 8.30am, and once in the car park area,
should not be crossing over the painted line.
Meet the Teacher Sessions
As the new school year begins, we would like to take the opportunity to invite all parents and carers into school to meet their child's new teacher and their classroom team.
These meetings will not only be a great chance to meet staff, it will also be an opportunity to find out about PE sessions, homework and details of your child's curriculum for the year.
Year 3 and 4 have already had their meetings, but the dates for other classes are as follows:
Tuesday 15th September - 9am
Year 2 & Year 5
Wednesday 16th September - 9am
Year 1
Friday 17th September - 9am
Year 6
School Clubs
We are pleased to announce that most of our after school clubs will be up and running from next week:
Please be reminded that all clubs, must be booked through the Arbor App. If you have any questions about booking sessions, or any aspect of the app, please speak to Miss Morse in the school office.
Please be aware that there will be NO CHILL on the following dates due to camp:
Thursday 17th September & Friday 18th September
All children will need to be collected at the normal end of the school day.
If your child has received a Head Teachers award this week, you are welcome to join us for Celebration Assesmbly on Monday to help them celebrate as they are awarded their certificate. Please arrive at school at 2.40pm ready for assembly to start at 2.45pm
Welcome back to a new school year and thank you to all those families who are already working hard to ensure their children are in school, on time, every day!
Please be aware of the following reminders:
Early Collections
If you need to collect your child before the end of the school day, this MUST be arranged prior to collection. You will also be asked for evidence of any appointments - without providing this, the absence will be marked as unauthorised which will effect your child's overall attendance.
We are unable to remove children from assemblies on Mondays and Fridays afternoons so if you arrive to collect your child withour prior notification (before 12.30pm) you will be asked to wait until children return to their classes.
Lateness
Doors are open for children to come in to school from 8.40am and children should be in school ready for registration by 8.50am.
Children arriving after 9.00am will recieve late mark and those who arrive after 9.20am will recieve an unauthorised mark for the morning session. Multiple occurances of lateness can have a negative effect on your child's overall attendance and in some cases may result in a penalty notice (fine).
Breakfast Club is available to all pupils from 8.00am (charged at £1 per day for children R-Y6 and £3 for Nursery) and is a great way to ensure children are in school on time, and ready for the school day.
Attendance Rewards
As always, we will be promoting GREAT ATTENDANCE this school year!
As well as individual rewards for 100% attendance each term, children will also have the chance to earn a non-uniform day each week if their class achieves above 98% attendance as a team!
We hope to see some fantastic attendance over the coming weeks and months and thank parents for continuing to support us with this!
Diane from Family Hubs will be joining us at school on Friday 25th September.
She will be avilable to meet with parents from 9-11am and can offer support and signposting on a variety of different topics.
If you would like to meet with her, please come along to coffee morning, or drop-in any time before 11am - no appointment necessary.
