Industrial Strike Action

As you may be aware, there is a further Strike Day planned by Teachers within the National Education Union (NEU) on Tuesday 2nd May.

We can confirm that the following classes WILL BE OPEN on Tuesday 2nd May and children in these year groups should attend school as normal:

The following classes WILL BE CLOSED and CHILDREN SHOULD NOT ATTEND SCHOOL:

Scooter & Bicycle Parking

We have had a number of cases recently where multiple children have bought the same/similar scooters to school and have accidentally ended up taking the wrong one home! With this in mind, we highly recommend that children lock their scooters and bikes up, even in the bike shed, to ensure they cannot be taken by someone else by mistake.

Whilst the bike shed is on site, and access to the school is restricted during the school day, bikes and scooters that are parked in the bike shed are left at your own discretion and school cannot take responsibility for any loss.

School Uniform

Please can we once again remind parents that children should be coming into school in the correct uniforms, and PE kits on their correct day.

Children should not be wearing branded sports wear for PE, and should instead be wearing a plain white t-shirt and plain black shorts/leggings/joggers. We will make contact with parents of children who do not come to school in the correct kit, and children may also be provided with spare kit to change into.

Attendance

We would like to say a big thank you to all of our families for working so hard to help us to improve attendance at School of Christ the King.

We have recently been informed that our current school attendance is ABOVE the city wide average from Bristol, and whilst we still have improvements to make, this is good news and we could not have achieved this without the hard work and support of our parents and children.

Please keep up the good work, and ensure your child is here on time, every day, ready to learn!

Bullying Concerns

In School of Christ the King we do our very best to address and concerns about bullying or possible bullying. Our policy is ‘ to prevent all forms of bullying amongst pupils.  To declare that bullying will not be tolerated and that all incidents will be taken seriously’.

Sometimes we hear that bullying concerns are being raised in the comminity that may not have been shared with the school. If you ever have any concerns that your child may be a victim of bullying, please come in and see us immediately, so we can address the problem. A copy of our full policy in on our website - www.ctk.education

If you have raised an issue, and you have concerns it has not been dealt with, please contact Mr Condon. This practice is in line with our Complaints Policy which is also available on our school website.

Coronation of Charles III and Camilla

The school will be celebrating this wonderful event on the lunchtime and afternoon of  Friday 12th May. More information will follow next week.
