A Big Thank You

We are extremely proud of our school, and everything our children achieve whilst with us, but we wouldn't be the CTK we are without the support of our wonderful parents, carers and extended family.

So we'd like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of you for continuing to support our school...

This week we've had parents in for a phonics workshop, ready to support their children in the upcoming phonics screening tests, Mr Condon has received wonderful feedback from parents of newer pupils on how much their children enjoy being with us, and today, some of our coffee morning regulars became Safety Superheroes and helped with some traffic management at drop-off!

Your ongoing faith and support in us is always appreciated as we strive to provide the best possible environment and learning opportunities to our pupils.

Information Updates

If you have recently changed any of your personal information, such as phone number, email address or home address, it's very important that you contact the school office to let us know.

It is essential that we have up to date contact details for parents, so not only are we able to contact you in an emergency, but also keep you updated of any events/important school information.

It is also helpful for us to have alternative contacts for us to use in an emergency, should we be unable to reach you. If you would like to update or amend any of the emergency contacts listed for your child, please speak to Miss Morse in the school office.

Book Cover Competition

On Monday, the winners of our Book Cover design competition were announced in assembly. We had an overwhelming number of entries and they were judged by Miss Garrett and Karen George during World Book Day. Here are our winning entries...

Meeting with members of staff

We have recently had quite a high demand for parents wishing to see certain staff members at the start of each day, and whilst we always try to be accomodating, it is often difficult to fit these in at the start of a busy school day.

Please can we politely remind parents that if they wish to meet with a member of staff, we would like to ask that they make an appointment through the school office, or alternatively, there are always staff on the door each morning who are more than willing to answer any questions or pass on any messages.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation with this matter.

Year 5 Drumming Performance

This term, Year 5 have been lucky enough to receive drumming lessons from musicians at Bristol Beacon.

On Wednesday 20th March, the children will be showcasing their newly learnt skills. We would like to invite parents and carers to join us for this performance. Please arrive by 10.50am for a prompt 11am start.

Girls Football Success

This week saw the second outing for our girl's team, and our second successful afternoon! 3 wins and a 0-0 draw means we are a team to be feared going into round three next week!

Some superb, calm goalkeeping from Daisy and strikes from the forwards kept on coming and getting us the wins!

It was incredibly wet and the girls who played without their glasses deserve a special mention! Well done Kaye and Freya!!

lent fundraising

A big big thank you to everyone who sent their children in with spare change for the Penny Trail this morning!

The children had a fantastic time laying the trail around the school hall - it wasn't as much fun picking it up again!

We will let you know the total for all of our fundraising at the end of term.

We're almost at the end of our fundraising efforts, with only a few weeks of term left.

Next week will be Break The Rules Day...

Do you have our school app yet?

The School Gateway app is the best (and cheapest) way to stay in touch with us here at CTK.

Not only can it be used to book children into clubs, it's also a great messaging service.

Text messages, whilst useful, cost us a lot of money to send and we're sure you agree, we'd rather spend our budget on more resources and opportunities for our children.  So, going forward, we're going to utilise the app more, to avoid sending as many text messages.

If you've not yet downloaded the app, you can find it on GooglePlay and the App Store under School Gateway. Here's a handy guide to get you started....

https://schoolgateway.co.uk/get-started/

Without the app, you might miss important information going forward, so we strongly encourage all parents to sign up - it's completely free and a great way to stay in touch!!

ATTENDANCE

Holidays during term time

Please can we once again remind parents that they should not be taking holidays during term time. If you book a holiday outside of the designated school holidays, it is important that you complete a Leave of Absence Request Form to inform us of your plans to take your child out of school. Parents should also be aware that any holidays booked during term time will result in a penalty notice (fine).

Lateness

Doors are open for children to come in to school from 8.40am and children should be in school ready for registration by 8.50am.

Children arriving after 9.00am will receive late mark and those who arrive after 9.20am will receive an unauthorised mark for the morning session. Multiple occurrences of lateness can have a negative effect on your child's overall attendance and in some cases may result in a penalty notice (fine).

Breakfast Club is available to all pupils from 8.00am (charged at £1 per day for children R-Y6 and £3 for Nursery) and is a great way to ensure children are in school  on time, and ready for the school day.
