Lent Fundraising
As always we will be raising money throughout Lent for various charities. We will be kicking things off on on Friday 1st March....
We will be running a different activity every Friday until the end of term:
4th -8th March - Easter Colouring
Friday 15th March - Penny Trail
We are asking pupils to bring in change in order to create a huge penny trail around the school playground.
Friday 22th March - Break the Rules Day
Children have the chance to break some of our school rules!! More details to follow!
Thursday 28th March - Easter Egg Raffle
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 8th March.
Children are welcome to come into school dressed as their favourite book character, however this is optional and children will not be expected to be in fancy dress if they would prefer not to.
As part of our World Day celebrations, in the lead up to the day, Mrs Garrett will be running a 'Design a Book Cover' Art Competition!
The competition is open to all children and will be judged by friend of the school and fantastic author Karen George! There are some fantastic arty prizes to be won so do encourage your child to take part!
Educational Visits
At CTK we pride ourselve s on the opportunities we provide our children in order to enrich their curriculum.
This year already, we have been able to take the children out of school on some fantastic educational visits, and we have more planned to support their in-class learning.
We have recently had a number of children deciding amongst themselves that they 'just don't want to go' out of school on visits and events. Whilst we are always happy to discuss any concerns that parents and children may have around trips, as they make up part of the curriculum, it is essential that all children attend.
Of course there may be times when children cannot attend off-site visits - medical exemption for example - however this must be discussed on a case by case basis with the class teacher.
Thank you for your continued support with this issue.
Year 6 Parent Coffee Afternoon - Thursday 29th February
We would like to invite parents of Year 6 children to join us for a cuppa from 2.45pm on Thursday 29th February.
This will be an informal get-together to enable parents to get to know each other. The sessions will be run by Mrs Selway who will be on hand to answer any questions that parents may have and support with any concerns raised.
We hope to be able to offer coffee afternoons for each year groups on a weekly basis, so please keep an eye out for details of dates for your child's year group!
If your child has received a Head Teacher Award this week, you are welcome to join us for Celebration Assembly on Monday to help them celebrate as they are awarded their certificate.
Please arrive at school at 2.40pm ready for assembly to start at 2.45pm.
