Calm, Kind, Consistent
We have had a very calm start to Term 5 and we are pleased to say that we've seen some great improvements in behaviour since we finished school at the end of Term 4.
We hope to see this continue as we move on through the term and would like to thank parents and carers for supporting us with behaviour and allowing our school to be a Calm, Kind and Consistent place for all of our pupils.
A Special Visit
This week, the whole school has been reading, exploring and enjoying the same text - 'Beegu' by Alexis Deacon. Each day, Mr Prichard set a new task to complete. These tasks were the same for every class in the school, including Nursery! Children have been sharing their work with siblings, friends and other teachers, and it has been fascinating to see the different outcomes derived from the same task!
Mr Prichard will be organising another week this year, using a different book.

Late Collections - Update and Thank You
As you know, at the end of last term we announced that we had implemented a new policy and charges with regards to children who were collected late from school.
We are pleased to say that since this policy has taken effect, we have seen a dramatic reduction in the number of children who are collected late each day so we would like to say a big thank you to parents for getting here on time at the end of the school day!
When children are not collected on time, it means that staff are unable to complete other work that ensures children are being provided with the best possible education - it's also upsetting for children who are left behind after all their friends have gone!
We hope to see these improvements continuing over the coming weeks, and as as reminder, here are the details of charges that are currently in place:
If a child is collected less than 10 mins late (between 3.20pm - 3.30pm) more than 3 times within a two week period, a £5.00 charge will be applied.
Where a child is collected later than 10 minutes after the end of the school day (3.30pm onwards) - parents will be charged for a session of Mini Chill (the child will not attend Mini Chill, but will be supervised elsewhere) at a cost of £2.00 per child.
Where a child is collected after 4.00pm or later than 10 minutes after the end of a Mini Chill Session – parents will be charged for a Full Chill Time Klub session at a cost of £3.50 per child.
Where a child is collected later than 10 minutes after the end of a Full Chill Time Klub session – a charge of £5.00 will be applied.
Where there are repeated late collections then charges may be increased by 50%.
Please also be reminded that these charges also apply to Nursery children.
Thank you for your ongoing support with this matter.

School Car Park
Please can we politely remind parents and carers that they should not be crossing the white line markings in the school park at pick up times. They should also not be allowing younger siblings to cross these markings.
These markings are in place to protect the safety of our children and parents and also to ensure the security of vehicles that may be on site.
Thank you for your co-operation with this.
We have had 4 new children start this week and though they have only been with us for 3 days, they have all done very well so far and have slotted into the class seamlessly.
We started our learning this term with Beegu. Beegu is a little yellow alien who landed on Earth alone. They were lost, had no friends and did not speak the same language as anyone else.
The nursery class used this story to explore good and poor choices, they thought about how we would welcome Beegu into our nursery and extended their learning into welcoming he new children with open arms. They have also worked together to write a letter to Mr Condon all about Beegu coming to the nursery.
In combination with this, the children have been learning of The Holy Spirit and how Jesus sent his friend to Earth. The children painted flames to decorate the classroom and used the activity to discuss their previous learning of Jesus being on the cross and how he came back to life. Making sure to note that only Jesus can come back to life, everyone else goes to Heaven.
This week has been wonderful, the children have really shown their caring sides to each other, making sure to seek support for themselves or their friends when someone is sad or hurt. They celebrate each others wins throughout the day and are just so amazingly kind. Your children are wonderful to have in the nursery and a pleasure to teach!
Hope you all have a restful weekend
