Goodbye Coach Liam!
This week we said goodbye to Coach Liam who has been working with us at CTK for the last two years, teaching PE lessons and running after school clubs.
He's been a fantastic addition to the team during his time here, and we know that both staff and children are sorry to see him go. But he's off to start an adventure, starting a brand new career as a barber!
Some of our children have written some lovely goodbye messages that we thought we'd share with you, to show just how big an impact he made during his time here...
✨Shiny and New✨
A big thank you to Alex, one of our Parent Governors, who arranged with the council to have the street signage outside of school replaced.
Whilst it might seem like a small detail, the old sign was very shabby and damaged, so having a nice new one helps with first impressions from the outside of the school!
Girls' Football
This week, our girls football teams played the last games of their inter-schools tournament.
The girls played with confidence, something they had been growing towards as a team over the course of the three weeks, and in doing so, CTK Team A came first in their group and Team B came 3rd in their group.
All of the girls should be really proud of their achievements!
Big Thanks
As you are aware, we have had some significant issues with behaviour in school recenty.
We just wanted to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to parents for supporting us with these issues - as a result we have seen some much improved behaviour this week. We look forward to seeing these improvements continue when we return to school after the Easter break.
School Shoes
Please can we politely remind parents that children should be wearing all black school shoes.
We have seen an increase in children coming into school in colourful trainers, which are not part of our school uniform.
Please can we make sure that children are wearing the correct footwear when we return to school for Term 5.
Late Collection Charges
Unfortuntately we are continuing to have a number of parents who are arriving late to collect their children at the end of the school day.
Collecting children is the responsibility of parents/carers. Due to the impact late collection has on staff, school reserve the right to start to charge when children are not collected at the end of the school day.
As of Term 5, we will be implementing an updated version of of Charges and Remissions Policy, and charges for late collections will be as follows:
If a child is collected less than 10 mins late (between 3.20pm - 3.30pm) more than 3 times within a two week period, a £5.00 charge will be applied.
Where a child is collected later than 10 minutes after the end of the school day (3.30pm onwards) - parents will be charged for a session of Mini Chill (the child will not attend Mini Chill, but will be supervised elsewhere) at a cost of £2.00 per child.
Where a child is collected after 4.00pm or later than 10 minutes after the end of a Mini Chill Session – parents will be charged for a Full Chill Time Klub session at a cost of £3.50 per child.
Where a child is collected later than 10 minutes after the end of a Full Chill Time Klub session – a charge of £5.00 will be applied.
Where there are repeated late collections then charges may be increased by 50%.
These charges will be added to After School Club accounts and will be payable through the Arbor App.
Further club bookings will not be able to be made until all charges have been paid.

We have had a super chill week this week.
The children have continued with their normal routines to allow them consistency and understanding of their day but we have had a large focus on being chill.
The morning activities have been calm with foci on number or letter formation, colours and name writing. The children know how to do all the activities well and so they did not have to focus on learning new things, instead they practised their previous learning, allowing them to developed but still feel relaxed in their knowledge.
The children have had a super busy term with their learning, fundraising and a plethora of bits in between so they're very tired - rightly so. For this we have been giving a lot of extra emotional support in the form of hugs, discussions of emotions and chilled carpet times. The understanding and validation the children are receiving for their emotions, especially those who struggle with their bigger emotions, has certainly supported regulation and allowed every child to feel understood when they have big reactions situations.
We know this is something that will pass once the children have a break over the half term and we will see them refreshed in the next term with a whole bunch of stories to tell of their adventures from half term.
We do hope you have a wonderful Easter break and hopefully enjoy some sunshine!
Miss Dale and the Nursery Team
As well as Headteachers awards, and reward in class, children at CTK can also earn 'leaves' for demonstrating our Gospel Values outside of the classroom. These leaves are added to the Tree in our foyer, which grows more and more throughout the school year...
What a fantastic Term we've had raising money for our chosen charities! We cannot thank you all enough for your consistent generosity - it's been really wonderful to see.
We will be counting up the money over the Easter break and look forward to sharing how much we've raised when we return in Term 5.
Here are the details of the charities all your donations will be supporting this year:
The Wednesday Word
The Wednesday Word is a special publication created to connect home, school and parish.
Every Wednesday a ‘word’, inspired by the coming Sunday’s Gospel, will be suggested for families to talk about in the home. The Wednesday Word is structured around the Sunday Gospel, because evidence shows that Gospel values really do help family relationships to thrive.
Ten:Ten Faith Newsletter - March
The Ten:Ten monthly parent newsletter gives you an overview of the content children will experience in school throughout the month and suggestions of ways for you to engage with them about it at home.
We see some fantastic writing from children across the school every day, but this might be Mr Condon's favourite piece of work this week!!
