Next week will be the children's final week of preparation, so please can parents ensure that children are in school on time, every day ready to learn.
For those children who are attending our Early Morning Maths sessions, please can we make sure that they are arriving for a prompt 8am start.
It's also important that children are staying in school for the full day, so please can parent's avoid collecting children before 3.20pm.
SATs Week is a very important week for our pupils and we thank parents and carers for their ongoing support during this preparation time.
This week, the sun has brought out the children's excitement to be creative in our outside area.
We have had all sorts in the mud kitchen; chefs, builders, teachers and families.
We have been reading the story, The Tiny Seed, and learning about the lifecycle of a flower. We have started to clean the garden area ready to do some planting over the next week and give the area a new lease of life. We have also been starting to sequence the lifecycle of a flower and explore how the sun provides energy for the flower to turn into food.
We have also been starting to learn how to say ‘hello’ in other languages. This stems from our learning of Beegu and how she didn’t speak our language but also combines with our learning of the Holy Spirit. The children are learning:
Bonjour
Ciao
Hola
Guten Tag
Jambo
Namaste
Aloha
Hello
The sign for hello
It has been a great week of learning and sunshine. We hope this lovely weather continues and so do the children’s excellent engagement and kindness towards each other.
We hope you had a wonderfully sunny weekend,
Miss Dale and the Nursery Team
There are no Head Teachers Awards this week due to the Bank Holiday however we would like to give a special a special mention to...
THEO - YEAR 4
Theo found some money outside today and in a great gesture of kindness, bought it to the office and asked for it to be donated to charity!
Whilst many children would have thought 'finders keepers,' Theo showed that he has really adopted the Gospel Values we use here at CTK - what a fantasic role model you are Theo!
The Wednesday Word
The Wednesday Word is a special publication created to connect home, school and parish.
Every Wednesday a ‘word’, inspired by the coming Sunday’s Gospel, will be suggested for families to talk about in the home. The Wednesday Word is structured around the Sunday Gospel, because evidence shows that Gospel values really do help family relationships to thrive.
Ten:Ten Faith Newsletter - April
The Ten:Ten monthly parent newsletter gives you an overview of the content children will experience in school throughout the month and suggestions of ways for you to engage with them about it at home.
