school news

Uniform/PE Kits

Please can we once again remind parents that children should be coming into school in the correct uniforms, and PE kits on their correct day.

Children should not be wearing branded sports wear for PE, and should instead be wearing a plain white t-shirt and plain black shorts/leggings/joggers. We will make contact with parents of children who do not come to school in the correct kit, and children may also be provided with spare kit to change into.

If you would like more information about our school uniform, visit https://www.ctk.education/important-information/school-uniform

Arriving and Leaving School

As you aware, we have different entrances/exits for different year groups at the beginning and end of the school day to allow children to come and go safely and ease foot traffic during busy times of the day.

Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 6 should enter and leave through the main school entrance and be collected from here at the end of the day.

Years 3, 4 & 5 should come and go from the rear entrance accessed via the lane.

We have recently had a number of children arriving and leaving through the wrong entrances. Please ensure you are using the correct access when dropping off and collected children.

Year 5 Camp

When we return from the half term break, Year 5 will be heading off to their Deanfield Residential Visit. Please can we remind parents to ensure any outstanding payments are made as soon as possible, and if you have any last minute questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Selways or Ms Wood.

Updating Personal Information

Please can we remind parents that if they update their phone numbers or email addresses, or move house, it is essential that you let us know.

If we do not have the correct contact information for you, not only may you miss out on important school information, it also means we are unable to contact you in an emergency.

Please also remember to let us know if any of the details for your emergency contacts change, or if you would like to add or remove anyone from your emergency contact list.

On Site Restrictions

We have had a number of cases of parents/carers bringing dogs onto site when they are dropping off and collecting children. Please be reminded that dogs should not be bought onto the school grounds.

We would also like to remind parents that our school site is a no smoking area.

Thank you for your ongoing co-operation with these matters.

Head Lice

We have had a number of reports of head lice in various classes across the school.

Nits are a very common occurrence among school age children, and whilst they aren't harmful, they can cause discomfort and distraction, so it's important that they are treated as soon as you notice them.

For more information on head lice, and how to treat them visit https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice-and-nits/

Attendance Champions

What a week!! We have not one, but two classes who have achieved 99% attendance this week....

YEAR 5 & YEAR 6

This is a fantastic achievement and both classes will be rewarded with a non-uniform day when we return to school after the half term break.

Thank you

We have noticed a significant improvement in attendance this term, and would like to thank parents, carers and children for working so hard to help us raise attendance levels. We're hoping to see even more improvements when we return to school in Term 4. Well done everyone for your hard work!

headteacher awards

As we are going into half term week, there are no head teacher awards this week and these will start up again once we return from the break.

We would however like to thank all of our children for continuing to work hard and for giving us another successful term at CTK!
