Y4-6 Guidance

Dear Parents and Carers,

In preparation for a probable school closure, we are focusing on ensuring children have access to learning at home.

Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 will have access to ‘Google Classroom’. These will be accessed via their school email. They all have an email account and log in details. Teachers will be posting daily, with three activities that they would like the children in their class to complete at home. These will be a range of activities for the children to enjoy. These will be assigned via your child’s email. Once work is completed, the children will be able to upload their work on Google Classroom – you can download this in the Play Store for Android or App Store for Apple devices. You can also access this via the web at: classroom.google.com

How to get onto Google Classroom? All children are up and running on google classroom, however, if they are struggling, they can follow these steps:

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Go to Classroom.
  2. Enter your username and click Next.
  3. Enter your password and click Next.
  4. If there is a welcome message, read it and click Accept.
  5. If you're using a G Suite for Education account, click I'm A Student.
  6. Click Get Started.

NB: If you need support or children lose their log in details, please do not hesitate to contact Miss Roberts at christ.the.king.p@bristol-schools.uk and she will reset their details.

Each child will also be given a paper work pack to take home with a range of activities to complete. Teachers will guide the children through their paper work packs by setting assignments on Google Classroom. Exercise books will also be sent home to support any written work.

Every pupil email (within google classroom) which they can use to contact their teacher or if you, as parents or carers, have any queries or concerns.

Each class has an email which they can use to contact their teacher or if you, as parents or carers, have any queries or concerns.

The class emails to contact the class teachers are as follows:

  • year.4@ctk.education for Mr Prichard
  • year.5@ctk.education for Mrs Rotheram
  • year.6@ctk.education for Mr Purser
  • LH.2@ctk.education for Mrs Buckland

Although this is a difficult time, we look forward to seeing what children are learning at home and staying in contact with you all.

Yours sincerely,

M Condon
